Winnipeg Kiki Ballroom and gorge festival is committed to creating a safer, welcoming, and affirming environment for everyone participating in our programming.

We expect all participants to treat one another with respect and honour each person’s boundaries, identities, names, pronouns, bodies, and lived experiences. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, unwanted touching, intimidation, or behaviour that compromises the safety and well-being of others will not be tolerated.

Ballroom is rooted in community and has been built by Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ people. We ask everyone entering the space—whether you are new to Ballroom or have been part of the scene for years—to respect Ballroom culture, its history, and the communities that created it.

Consent is ongoing and can be withdrawn at any time. Please ask before touching, photographing, filming, or sharing identifiable images of another participant.

If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, please speak with a Winnipeg Kiki Ballroom organizer. Organizers may intervene or ask someone to leave when necessary to protect the community and the space.
